1. Who this Policy covers
This Policy applies to personal information we collect in operating bonealiveflex.world, our Marine Parade studio, and related communications. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (Privacy Act) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) in Schedule 1 of that Act.
2. Kinds of personal information
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect identity and contact details (name, email, phone), messages you send, attendance and payment references, technical information from your device (such as IP address and browser type), and cookie or local storage preferences you set through our consent tools. We do not use our website to collect government identifiers such as tax file numbers.
3. How we collect
We collect personal information directly from you when you complete forms, email us, telephone us, or attend the studio. We may also collect limited technical information automatically when you load pages or embedded content from third parties (for example map providers).
4. Purposes of collection, holding, use and disclosure
We use personal information to respond to enquiries, administer sessions and passes, maintain studio safety, improve our website, comply with law, and—only where you consent—to activate optional analytics or marketing technologies described in our Cookies Policy. We disclose information to service providers who assist us (for example email or payment processors) under written terms that require them to protect information and use it only for the services they provide to us.
5. Overseas disclosure
Some technology suppliers may store or process data outside Australia. Where we disclose personal information to overseas recipients, we take reasonable steps to ensure overseas handling complies with APP 8, which may include contractual safeguards. You may request further detail about likely overseas recipients by contacting us.
6. Direct marketing and the Spam Act 2003
We only send commercial electronic messages with your consent, accurate sender identification, and a functional unsubscribe facility where the law requires it. You may opt out of marketing at any time without affecting your ability to receive essential service messages such as receipts or safety notices.
7. Security and data breach response
We apply reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards proportionate to the harm that might result from misuse, interference, loss, or unauthorised access. If an eligible data breach is likely to occur under the Notifiable Data Breaches (NDB) scheme, we will assess the incident and, where required, notify the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) and affected individuals.
8. Retention
Contact correspondence is generally retained for up to twenty-four months unless a longer period is needed for disputes, warranties, or regulatory obligations. Technical logs are rotated on a ninety-day cycle unless isolated retention is required for security review. Cookie preference data remains until you clear browser storage or we reset consent at your request.
9. Access and correction
You may request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you by emailing writetous@bonealiveflex.world. We will respond within a reasonable period, usually thirty days for straightforward requests. If we refuse access or correction, we will explain the reasons that apply under the APPs and how you may complain.
10. Complaints
If you consider we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first so we can try to resolve the matter. You may then complain to the OAIC via oaic.gov.au. Nothing in this Policy removes your rights under the Privacy Act.
11. European visitors
If we offer goods or services to individuals in the European Union or monitor their behaviour in the EU, elements of the EU General Data Protection Regulation may also apply. Where both regimes apply, we align overlapping obligations and will clarify lawful bases on request.
12. Updates
We may amend this Policy when our practices change. The effective date below will be updated, and material changes affecting members will also be noted at the studio desk where practicable.
